NexPhase Community Center

This project, created for the BEHR® Student Design Competition, reimagines an existing building as a supportive community center focused on growth, connection, and opportunity. Guided by the 2026 Color Trends Palette, the design uses the primary color “Hidden Gem” to symbolize the transition from past to future. Warm neutrals and cooler accents define different zones, creating a balanced flow between gathering, learning, and support spaces.

Organic textures, natural forms, and layered lighting reinforce a sense of comfort and continuity, creating a space that feels both grounded and uplifting. The center offers classrooms, maker spaces, job-readiness resources, and seasonal overflow support for local shelters. Overall, the design transforms color and materiality into tools for empowerment, creating a welcoming environment where people can learn, heal, and thrive.
